Calming the Riot Read online

“Absolutely,” Liar said pushing to his feet. He felt Andrea’s eyes on him, but he focused on grabbing his t-shirt and cut.

“Bring her with you,” Beast suggested.

  “Um, no.”

Beast laughed. “You namby-pamby, you scared to bring ‘er round me and my Biloxi brothers?”

When Liar looked at Andrea, he realized his mistake. He should have stood up and turned away from her in the process, instead much like the day they met, her eyes were on his lower body, and her gaze was just as hungry. Dammit.

“If the look on her face right now is any sign, she’s damn happy with what I have to offer. See you in twenty.”

Tucking the phone into the holster, he gave Andrea a serious look. “Stop lookin’ at me that way, baby. You got two seconds to decide. I’m goin’ back to the compound to say goodbye to my cousin. You comin’ with or not?”

She was taking much longer than two seconds to decide, but to Liar’s surprise, it took him even less time to make his own snap decision.

  ***

The tension Liar felt with Andrea on the back of his bike earlier in the day had all faded away. While he’d love to say that was all compliments of Andrea, the fact was it was partly that but mainly knowing what he could expect at the compound. There was no telling what Andrea might do on her own turf, but around his brothers, Liar was pretty certain she wouldn’t make any overt passes at him. Plus it wasn’t likely there would be nearly as many women at the compound as there had been at Volt’s place last night.

As he turned from Blanding Boulevard onto Townsend road where the compound was located, he knew having Andrea behind him was a feeling he could get used to. She still clung to him, especially on turns, and he could tell she wasn’t used to fighting against the force of the wind on her body. Having her arms wrapped firmly around his torso was one of the best feelings he’d had in a long time, and no sooner had that thought struck him than the opposite hit him in the gut. He needed to keep his guard firmly in place. His life was not one for happily ever afters. Goodness that stemmed from a woman in his life was always snatched away from him at some point. It was just a matter of waiting for the other shoe to drop. He couldn’t let himself forget that, not for a second.

He was grateful the compound was a few seconds away, or Andrea might have picked up on his mounting tension. As it was, he tore through the forecourt in an effort to keep Beast’s other brothers from drooling over Andrea any more than they had last night. Kicking down the stand on his bike, he waited for her to dismount before he did the same. When he turned to her, he expected her to be gazing up at him with those bright brown eyes, but she was busy taking stock of the place instead.

He had never tried to look at the compound or anything about the Riot MC through the eyes of an outsider. As far as he was concerned all outsiders could keep their shit to themselves, including their opinions. Watching Andrea’s mahogany eyes drinking it all in, he felt anxious about her opinion.

What was happening here? He shouldn’t care about her opinion of this place any more than he did anyone else’s. Yet, he couldn’t stop himself from scrutinizing her facial expression.

She turned to him and beamed. “So, where’s your cousin?”

“Ain’t out here that’s for sure. If I had to guess, he’s inside and if we’re lucky he’s fully dressed.”

Her eyebrows furrowed. “Why on earth wouldn’t he be?”

Raising his eyebrows at her, Liar simply gave her a stern look.

  “Before a long road trip?”

“You think Volt doesn’t get his rocks off before a road trip?”

She rolled her eyes to the top of her head. “I try not to think about Volt and Jackie like that, okay? I love her like a sister for heaven’s sake.”

Liar shook his head at her but hooked her around the neck and steered her toward the clubhouse. Immediately, he was grateful Andrea had never been here before. It was the only saving grace that allowed him to guide her to the left and away from the sofa where Beast was being sucked off by an enthusiastic Laura. There was no brother or prospect Laura wouldn’t tangle with in or out of the sheets. The only prospects who hadn’t partaken of her generous offers were Razor and Liar. Plus, if it hadn’t been for Razor claiming Tennille, Laura would probably still be hounding him.

“Gotta hurry up, Brunette Barbie. My cousin’s here, and I gotta…oh, yeah. Just like that,” Beast groaned.

Andrea was straining to turn around within Liar’s hold, but he held her firm. Leaning down, he whispered in her hair. “You don’t want to know what’s goin’ on behind you.”

He thought she would try to look over her shoulder again, but to his surprise, she remained still. “Pretty sure the noises I’m hearing tell me just about everything I need to know, Liar.”

Liar nodded at the prospect behind the bar. After a moment, there were two pint glasses in front of them. Liar thought that was a bad move on the part of the prospect because there was no way a woman like Andrea drank beer, but to his chagrin, she picked up her pint glass to take a huge gulp. He sipped at his glass and set it down.

“Wouldn’t have pegged you as a beer kinda woman.”

“But you pegged me as a Dunkin’ Donuts coffee kinda woman, so I’d say we’d call it a wash but really you just don’t know me that well.”

Andrea stiffened next to him as Beast sidled up to her. His smile was sickening because it communicated just how satisfied he was.

“Good to know I’m not the only one who can live up to his road name around here,” Liar goaded.

“What? Jacksonville brothers don’t get sucked off in front of other people?”

Liar shook his head. “It’s a shame when you took a dip in the family gene pool you didn’t come out with more brain cells. Instead, you got all the good looks, which means you always think with your little head, you damn Beast.”

  “Jealous, much?”

“Rude, much? You might not have a lot of experience with them, but this lady here is Andrea. Think you spoke to her last night but weren’t properly introduced.”

Beast gave Andrea a shit-eating smile and held out his hand. “I’m Beast, and I’m the Huntley man who knows how to have a good time. He gets boring for you, baby, find me. You hear?”

Andrea’s gaze slid to Liar and back to Beast, but she shook his hand. “Nice to officially meet you, Beast.”

Before Beast could make her any more uncomfortable, Har, the president of the Biloxi chapter walked into the room shouting. “Mount up, brothers! The Biloxi Riot is hittin’ the road.”

Beast moved and hugged Liar’s neck while pounding him on the back with a firm hand. Liar returned the gesture, but before he could pull away, Beast whispered, “Don’t let your head fuck things up with her. She looks at you like the sun shines outta your ass and she’s stacked —”

Liar jerked away. “Get on the road you, bastard! Then come back soon so we can see Gran.”

Beast grinned and lifted his chin at Liar. Turning his eyes to Andrea, he gave her a wink. “Take care of him, Andrea. He doesn’t take care of you, I’ll be back soon enough to do the job right.”

Andrea rolled her eyes and muttered, “Whatever.”

  CHAPTER SEVEN

  Andrea

Liar kept my body pinned to his as we followed six burly bikers outside the clubhouse. It was sweet of him in his way, much like his attempt at shielding me from the sight of his cousin being taken care of by a sweet-butt. That was when it struck me that he didn’t realize how much I knew about the club goings-on from Jackie. I got a chill at hearing all six motorcycles rev their engines as they pulled out of the forecourt. Yes, now I could see what the fuss was all about for Jackie with Volt five years ago.

When the roar of the motorcycles had died down, Liar squeezed my waist. “You wanna finish your beer or do you want me to take you back to your place?”

I wanted to see his room here, but I sensed that wouldn’t go over well. “I’ll finish my beer, if th
at’s cool with you.”

  “You got it.”

We were perched at a table, and I was down to my last sip when Volt came to talk to us. “Andrea. Good to see you at the Riot Clubhouse, and it’s about damn time too.”

“Thanks. I have to say, it’s exactly like Jackie described it.”

Volt chuckled. “I’ll just bet it is. Liar. I’ll be by Hock’s tomorrow. Later, you two.”

When Liar saw my glass was empty, he asked, “You ready to hit the road?”

Putting an elbow on the table, I put my head in my hand. “I don’t get to see your room?”

He took a deep breath and looked off to the left. Then he closed his eyes as he released his breath. When he opened his eyes again, they were hard. “I told you, I don’t want to move things too fast with you.”

I stood up because I couldn’t take it anymore. He was treating me like some sort of delicate flower, and I hated it! “God!” I yelled, took a breath and continued. “Jesus! I’ve all but thrown myself at you today, Jim! What’s it take for a girl to get her point across? I want you as much as you want me. No, wait! That’s not true. Obviously, I want you far and away more than you want me.” Turning my back on him, I huffed away only to whirl around on him again. “You know, Jackie always talked about how wild and crazy the bikers could be, and here I am willing and ready to be as wild and crazy as you could want me to be and you’re turning me down! How am I supposed to respond to that?”

Growling, Liar stood up and pulled me flush to his body. “Has it occurred to you, that you’re too good to throw yourself at anybody least of all me?”

I felt my eyes bug out and I was staring at him hard. My lips parted, and a look crossed his face as if he was expecting me to try to trick him. My rant had nearly fizzled out, but I had to make one last stab at getting through to him. “You don’t get it, do you? You don’t see what the rest of us see in you. How do you not know just how important and special you are?”

His lips thinned, and I thought I might have gone a little too far, but suddenly he grabbed my hand, and we were stalking out of the common area. We went a few feet down a hallway with multiple doors flanking it. He stopped at one and unlocked it. His hand went to the small of my back, and he shoved me through the doorway, and then he slammed the door. Hard. The room was taken up by a huge bed. There was an extremely narrow walkway to a six-drawer dresser on one side of the bed, and on the other side, there was an equally small walkway leading to a bathroom.

“Happy?” Liar growled his question to the back of my head.

I looked over my shoulder at him and noticed he was clenching his jaw again. Taking my chances, I shrugged one shoulder. “Kind of. I do like your bed.”

His eyes narrowed at me. “It’s just a bed, and it isn’t even fuckin’ made. You’ve seen my room. Let’s split.”

I looked back to the bed and smirked. I toed off my sandals and jumped onto the bed on my knees. “Nope.”

I turned onto my ass so I could see him. Liar’s face looked pained, and when he finally spoke, he did it with his eyes closed. “Woman, do not make me drag you off that bed.”

I laid back, fanning my long hair out onto a pillow. “You know, Liar, I have to say, you give very mixed signals. Last night you said I ‘wasn’t’ going to be in your bed, then you said you were wrong about that. Now, here I am, in your bed and you’re threatening to drag me out of it. That would be a crying shame, I have to say.”

“Why is that?” he asked putting a knee on the bed crawling over me. It pleased me to watch him do this, but I didn’t believe I’d won this war just yet.

I reached up and stroked the bristly stubble on his cheek. “Because I want you.”

His face moved just an inch like my answer was not what he expected. “You can want me without being in my bed.”

“Let me rephrase and elaborate. I want you inside me. Soon, as in today. If that isn’t clear enough for you, let me say this. I’m horny for you. Now are you going to put us both out of this misery, or what?”

He grabbed my hand from his stubbled-cheek and lowered it to the bed. “This room backs right up to the common room. The walls are thin, Andi. You want all my brothers to hear us?”

I smiled a small closed-lip smile. Then, I said, “I don’t really care, but when we were out there it damn sure didn’t look like all of your brothers are here. Now, you gonna take care of me, or do I have to do it myself before I let you take me home?”

“‘Let me’ take you home?” he asked with a devious glint in his eyes.

“Yep,” I said with a quick arch of my eyebrow.

Finally, he lowered his weight onto me, and his hips settled between my legs. I slid my hands into the well-trimmed hair on the side of his head and brought his lips to mine. Our tongues tangled and I was enjoying things when to my surprise his teeth caught my lower lip and tugged at it. When it broke free, my eyes flew open, and the look in his eyes made me smile, and my hips buck. I wanted to roll him over, but his mouth smashed to mine, and our kiss became vehement. His hands found the button on my shorts, and he deftly unbuttoned and unzipped me. One of his hands slipped inside my panties, and my legs widened in anticipation.

To my dismay, he didn’t move his hand any further. I tilted my hips up in an effort to get his fingers where I wanted them, but he didn’t fall for my ploy. His lips disengaged and his coppery eyes glittered at me. “I set the pace here, woman. You’re not down with that, tell me now. There’s an empty room next to mine, you can do what you need to do, and I’ll take a cold shower.”

I pouted and dipped my chin as much as the pillow would allow me. “So long as your pace isn’t the same as that of a snail, I’m down with whatever you got.” Dropping my hands to the inside hem of his cut, I tried to peel it off of him. “Now, let’s go before I combust.”

His teeth nipped my earlobe, and he said in a low voice there, “Dramatic, much?”

“You touch me where I need you to, and you’ll find I’m damn accurate and not the least bit dramatic, Jim.”

It seemed me calling him by his given name had some purpose. He rolled us over, so I was on top, and he started trying to shove my shorts down my legs. That wasn’t actually going to work with our current position, so I took advantage and removed my shirt and bra. His hands stilled, and I looked down to see him staring at my heavy breasts with awe. Then both hands cupped and squeezed my breasts. “Fuck me. They are real,” he whispered to himself.

He whipped me to my back, but not before I could petulantly say, “Of course they’re real. So are my teeth, not that anybody believes me about that either.”

Liar was sucking on my right nipple, but he stopped when his gorgeous eyes caught mine. “I was pretty damn sure they were real the first time I saw you. The crowd around here though, I still had to wonder. Damn glad to know I’m right. Fuck, you’re goddamned perfect, Andi.”

“I appreciate that and all, and I like what you’re doing to the girls, but let’s see if you’re goddamned perfect, Jim.”

He bucked off me and had his cut off his shoulders in seconds. He put a fist behind his neck and yanked his t-shirt brutally over his head. Stooping over, he got his boots off, and his jeans followed. He either went commando or his underwear went at the same time as the denim. I wasn’t sure which and at that point I didn’t much care about his preference in underwear. The picture-perfect pecs and abdominal muscles tapered to a drool-worthy waist the star of which was his groin with its patch of auburn hair. His legs were just as muscled as the rest of him, but it was his erection which had my full attention. Yes! This man was everything I thought he would be in the nude. Quickly, I shimmied out of my shorts and underwear all while laying on the bed.

“Now why’d you go and do that, baby? Maybe I wanted to enjoy a show.”

With a wry smile, I said, “Some other time, mister. This hippie-chick is hungry, and you got what I need.”

He lowered himself to me again. “So you’re a ‘hippy-chick’?”
r />   I nipped his earlobe and muttered, “Like you didn’t know.”

The kiss he laid on me was long, wet, deep and took my breath away. Even with little air in my lungs, I didn’t want him to stop but stop he did. “Gettin’ a condom, babe. You want to do the honors or am I right in thinkin’ you don’t even care.”

“I’ll do the honors. I want to put my hands all over you, and I don’t care what I have to do to make that come about.”

He grinned at me slyly. “I’m gonna make sure we both come about all right.”

With the condom in hand, I gripped his thick cock and placed the condom on the crown. With my fingers, I gently rolled it down his lengthy shaft. I smiled to myself because I couldn’t remember the last time I was so excited and giddy with anticipation. It was unusual for me to get the guy I really wanted, and I had convinced myself there was no way this magnificent man could possibly want me. I set my thoughts aside because it was high time to get this party started.

Just as I was going to look at Liar, he groaned, “God, tell me you don’t look at every man like you do me.”

I smiled at him. “Hands down your cock is the best one I’ve ever seen…and also the most recent.”

He playfully shoved me to my back. “Gonna pay for that, Andi.”

“Good,” I breathed as he captured my mouth in a searing kiss.

My hands roved his back. It was a damn fine thing my eyes were closed because otherwise, Liar would have seen them roll up in my head as I memorized every ridge and dip in his posterior muscles. He was delicious, and I didn’t even have my eyes on him. I never believed in insta-love, but my mother had always said the heart couldn’t hold out against strong physical chemistry. We had chemistry between us all right. With every thrust of his hips into my body, I thought I would explode. Though that might have been because his tongue was mimicking his hip action, but whatever it was I knew I couldn’t possibly get enough of it.

Any thoughts of his muscular backside were derailed by Liar’s calloused hands at my breasts. His fingertips were rough and having them deftly rubbing my tender nipples was sheer heaven and torture all at the same time. It had been well over a year since I’d been with a man, but there was zero doubt for me that I could damn sure get on the Liar train every freaking day. I moved my lips away from his so I could kiss a trail down his jawline to his neck and shoulder.
